Mine and Francis Manapul’s Monsters and Dames piece for E merald City Comic Con’s Monsters & Dames art books. I love how this came out. It is very rare that Francis and I do a piece together. Only other published piece was for the Joe Shuster Awards Poster a few years back. I love drawing monsters so I got a chance to draw lots of them!

Ohh If you watched Aahh!! Real Monsters years ago you may find my little tribute to Oblina from the show. (Hint, it’s really small and green) hehe.

My monsters for mine and Francis’ Monsters and Dames piece were inspired by this piece I did about 4-6 years ago for school. Monsters are always fun to draw. I should draw more monsters. I feel Waking Up Abbey may have some monsters coming her way in one of the story lines. Imagination Station is already filled with them (Well, Aliens really)! Yay Monsters! :) I hope you guys like all the monsters I have been posting!

Commission Price Changes

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to let everyone know there are changes in my commission prices. If you have seen my most recent watercolour commissions you will notice the amount of detail I put in when drawing and colouring. I have been advised for a while now to raise my prices but I have been very hesitant. As I learn new skills and my talents grow the quality and time of my commissions grows as well. I think it's fair and understandable why I have chosen to raise my rates.

If you are already on my commission list you will still get your commission at the price already quoted.

If you would like to be added to my commission list please email me at agnes@mymisiu.com with the title Commissions

New Commission Prices (All done in Watercolours, Minimal Background):
-9×6 Commissions $60 single character, $5 per extra characters (2-3 Character Max depending on the commission)
-12×9 Commissions– $100 single character, $10 per extra characters
-16×12 Commission - $160 single character, $20 per extra characters

I'm going to test out the above prices and see how they work for me. I will base everything on the amount of time it takes me to complete a commission.

Convention Prices may be a little different since I don't have as much time to invest in commissions as I have at home. I have also noticed I am not able to do as many commissions at shows as I used to in the past. Convention Prices will be posted about a month or two before a convention.

Here are a few more commissions I took photos of from FanExpo 2011 that I did.Mera and Aquaman swimming with a fishie. I was asked to put in the fishie since it was the pet and he wanted it part of the commission. So there is a cute fishie in the piece :)

I finally got my hands on these photos! All of these photos are courtesy of my friend Paul De La Merced. The Wonderwoman outfit design was created by megarinri on tumblr. I plan on wearing more of her designs in the future. They are just so awesome!THANK YOU SO MUCH PAUL FOR THESE PHOTOS! :)I hope to wear this outfit for New York. Here is a Calvin and Hobbes Commission I did at the Fan Expo this year. I love how it came out since I am a huge fan of Calvin and Hobbes. Thank you Ryan Cross for sending me a scan of this piece! Now I can post a nice scan for you all to see!

Here is another awesome scan I got from another commission I did at the FanExpo. This one is of Ivy and Harley and the scan comes from Patrick. Thank you! This was fun because Patrick gave me four options of different paired characters. I looked over the list and I went with the idea that popped in my head first! I saw Harley and Ivy and I knew I wanted to draw them right away.

I don’t think I posted this yet. Here is my Dreams and Wishes themed piece I did for the Calgary Expo 2011 Art Book and the Make-A-Wish Foundation charity piece.

Both mine and Francis Manapul’s pieces included at least one of our dogs. He did all our dogs in his and I bid on it in auction. I won and we gave it to his mom for her birthday. I thought it was the best home for a piece with a lot of sentimental value to us. My piece on the other hand features Otis and some new friends. I found out through Twitter that my piece is going to have a wonderful home too. :)

Open Book is celebrating the outstanding graphic novels and comics published here in Ontario and throughout the country with Whazamo! profiles, contests, videos and a series of original literary comics curated by Vepo Studios. I was honoured to be asked to be a part of the celebration.

Every TUESDAY and THURSDAY for the month of May, Open Book: Toronto will feature an original comic by a Canadian cartoonist. I was asked to share a story of one book that has inspired me as artists. I knew right away the story I wanted.

Had a great weekend at Wizard World Toronto. Thank you to everyone who came by! Big thank to those who helped me raise money for Red Cross! It is so wonderful to see that so many people care about helping others. It really warms my heart!
